The initiative by ‘Kids for Tigers’ yesterday showed the continued interest and concern of kids in protecting the wild cats. They are very much aware of the importance too. Around 500 kids gathered for the event based on the topic ‘Climate Change’ in Bangalore with all posters and masks of tigers. The events came to an end with a meeting to create understanding on safeguarding natural resource…
Kudos to ‘Kids for Tigers’ for the great job!!!

The Village
A few snaps from my last trip to my village (Kerala), about 400 miles from Bangalore.
Thats the way to my village once where my ancestors lived .....
An old temple near village; a very good example of bio-diversity and it shows the importance of peaceful co-existence of all living beings. They are called 'Kaavu'. In and around this temple, there are variety of birds, insects and small creatures including snakes. The villagers feed them daily a share of their own 'daily bread'. Even at the midst of summer the premises of this temple stay cool with plenty of water all around.....
Way to my ancestral home........... (which unfortunatley got demolished about a couple of decades back)
The beautiful 'village moon' at night :-)
one of the oldest hanging bridges in India (1877) constructed by the Dedicated British Engineers, still standing tall. The Government has converted it into a monument and is preserved and well protected till today. And the best part is, it was in use till a decade ago.
Does this place remind you of your childhood and the jungles of some fairy tale that you read ??? This is about 20 miles from the village.
A few minutes after the clouds above 'cried'; so that the farmers down on earth 'smiled'.
A train shot on the way to native.
Another shot from train.....
A 'family get-together' when i shed a bit of my breakfast on the floor. Shot taken in a friend's house in village.
These are places seen while travelling by bus.....
When the bus pass by a Tea Estate.......
another one...................
Just after the Tea Estates...bus coming down the hill..............
That is one of Grandpa's treasures......
Hope you all enjoyed the time spent and liked my village..............will get you more in the next visit.......
And we will be conducting many interesting events in Bangalore in the next few months. Will update you on it in the coming days.......................
Take Care...........

Aero Show Bangalore 2009
The exhibition has around 600 different business entities taking part from 26 countries in an area which covers 44,000 square meters, and hence the largest show in Asia. This is basically a Government organized show in association with Indian Air Force, Department of Space and DRDO. The first edition of this was in the year 1996 and was a great success and this is the 9th edition.
The highlight of course is the brilliant and acrobatic display by our aerobatics demonstration teams of Indian Air Force, Surya Kiran (meaning Sun Rays) and Sarang (meaning Peacock). And Surya Kiran needs no explanation, as it is renowned for its aerobatics world over and consists of worlds most dangerous dare devils in air and so is Sarang
Check out the pictures taken by my friend Shaiju Mohan. He is an awesome photographer (s/w engg by profession though). Check out a few of his 'coding with the camera' :)

The Peaceful Outskirts Of Bangalore
A few months back we visited one of the most beautiful and serene places in the outskirts of bangalore, Bennerghatta Jungle Lodges, which is a 'must see' destination for anyone who wants to relax in 'peaceful wilderness'. Never miss this when you are in bangalore next time. We had this trip from our office and had a group booking done with the Jungle Lodge authorities. They charge very reasonably and maintain the premises very well with a great sense of concern for environement. The entire area is a plastic free zone.
The jungle lodges, literally in the middle of thick forest is fenced and well protected. This is an awesome place to spend a couple of days with your friends and family. It is an amazing place to visit. we had a nice time here inside the forest for two days.
A small lake near our stay........
Our team just before setting out for trekking.........
thats peace.........
making our own paths............ :)
team on top of the rock.......... :)
independent cottages.......available for very reasonable rent......
the interiors are pretty neat and well maintained...........
another cottage...............
this is the front portion of dormitory........
a squirrel just in search of ...........
hope you all enjoyed........ and thank you...... :-)

Garden City
A very short review of Bangalore!!!
The city which is known for its greenery, even from the days of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV (1884-1940) remained with Mysore State, after Independence, with Maharaja of Mysore as the ruler.
And Bangalore is also the first city to have hydroelectric powered electricity in India. Bangalore experienced rapid growth a decade before and after the independence, and saw the arrival of many immigrants from different parts of India.
In the decades that followed, Bangalore's private sector flourished and especially the manufacturing base developed with a lot of private companies being setup in the city. The city witnessed the real estate boom in the early 1980's and 90's and the investors converted large spaces into apartments and the trend still continues and changed the face of the city from a sleepy 'Pensioners Paradise' to the most Happening city in India. And later from 90's onwards it turned out to be the Silicon Valley of East and still continues stronger..........
Planning to write more about India and Bangalore in particular, all those interesting facts which I would be posting and sharing with you all in the coming days...........
