Yakshagana (This snap was shot while an artist was getting ready for a performance last year near Mangalore, Karnataka)

A wonderful dance drama popular in Karnataka and northern parts of Kerala, which may look like Opera for those from west. 'Yakshagana' simply means 'Exotictribe's Song' or can say 'song of yaksha'. Yakshas are exotic tribes who are superhuman with supernatural powers which are mentioned in classic Indian epics like Mahabharata, Ramayana, Puranas etc
Indolence is a delightful but distressing state; we must be doing something to be happy. Action is no less necessary than thought to the instinctive tendencies of the human frame.
