Kallu Villakku and Public Library

Entrance of reading room of our Public Library in my native state, Kerala.
The black structure on the right is called 'KALLU VILLAKKU' a lamp carved in stone.

The Auditorium and the reading room was constructed, keeping in mind, the Baker model. Laurie Baker an award-winning British-born Indian architect, popular for his inventiveness in cost-effective energy-efficient architecture and for his unique space utilization. His models are simple yet beautiful with aesthetic sensibility. He made a name for himself both in sustainable architecture as well as in organic architecture.

The auditorium adjacent to the public library. This has all the state of the art facilities. I watched that wonderful movie Forrest Gump here, in a special show in the mid 90's, with friends
Indolence is a delightful but distressing state; we must be doing something to be happy. Action is no less necessary than thought to the instinctive tendencies of the human frame.
